Keep your pool water circulating and filtering properly with professional pool filter repair, troubleshooting, and replacement for common filtration system problems.

Pool Filter Repair & Filtration System Diagnostics in Sarasota, FL
Your pool's filtration system plays an important role in keeping water clear and equipment operating properly. When a filter leaks, loses pressure, or stops filtering effectively, the problem may involve damaged internal components, worn seals, valves, or the filter housing itself.
Aloha Pool Service provides mechanical pool filtration equipment diagnosis and repair for homeowners throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. Our team evaluates the equipment, identifies the source of the problem, and recommends appropriate repairs or replacement when necessary.
Our focus is on pool equipment repair and installation, not weekly pool cleaning or routine pool maintenance. If your pool pump is starving the filter of flow, or the entire filter tank needs replacing, see our Pool Equipment Replacement page.

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Filter Repair
DE filters are one of the most common filtration systems we service. When water returns dirty to the pool or the filter tank drips under pressure, the problem usually traces to a worn multiport valve, torn DE grids, a cracked manifold, or a failing tank clamp. Aloha Pool Service performs complete DE filter teardown, diagnosis, and repair of the component at fault.
Torn or Fouled DE Grids
DE grids tear with age and pressure. When grids are torn, DE powder bypasses the filter and returns to the pool as a cloudy film. We inspect every grid, replace torn elements, and reassemble the filter properly.
Worn Multiport Valve
A spider gasket or valve rotor that fails lets water leak out the waste port or bypass filtration. We replace spider gaskets and rebuild or replace the multiport valve so every position seals correctly.
Cracked Manifold or Standpipe
A cracked manifold lets DE powder and debris bypass the grids. We inspect the internal manifold and standpipe for stress cracks and replace broken parts so the filter actually cleans your water.
Leaking Tank or Clamp Ring
Water dripping from the tank clamp or O-ring under pressure means a failing seal. We inspect the clamp ring, O-ring, and tank body and replace the failed component before a small leak becomes a blowout.
Common Pool Filter Problems We Diagnose
Leaking Filter Tank or Housing
Water dripping from the filter tank, clamp ring, or O-ring under pressure usually points to a failing seal or damaged housing. We evaluate the leak source and recommend repair or replacement of the affected component.
High or Low Pressure Readings
A pressure gauge pinned in the red or dropping well below normal indicates a blockage, a failed valve, or an internal filter problem. We diagnose the pressure issue and trace it to its source.
Valve & Gasket Failures
Worn spider gaskets, slice valves, and multiport valve rotors let water bypass filtration or leak from the waste port. We inspect and replace the failed valve components so every position seals correctly.
Poor Filtration & Cloudy Water
When water returns dirty or stays cloudy, the cause may be torn internal elements, a cracked manifold, or a filter that is no longer catching debris. We evaluate the filtration system and recommend the appropriate repair.
How We Decide: Repair or Replace
When the tank body is sound and the failure is a gasket, grid, or manifold, a targeted repair restores filtration without replacing the whole filter. When the tank is cracked, corroded, or the filter is undersized for your pool, we'll tell you plainly and walk you through replacement options.
